I am originally from the Island of Madagascar, before moving to Columbia, South Carolina (USA), with my family in 1992.

I earned a BA and an MA in History from the University of Madagascar, and a PhD in International Studies from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC.

Prior to becoming a Full Professor of Political Science at Benedict College, Columbia, SC, I worked as a journalist for Midi-Madagasikara, a daily newspaper in Antananarivo (Madagascar) from 1986 to 1989.  I also taught  at the University of Fianarantsoa (Madagascar) from 1989 to 1992, at Allen University, Columbia, SC (USA) from 1999 to 2010, and at Colorado Technical University Online from 2010 to 2011.

Besides teaching, I am also involved in some research projects on African politics.
